Boys and girls aged 8 to 12 years can play in mixed teams

Abbotsford Juniors Football Club offers male and female players the opportunity to play junior football in teams participating in Under 8 to Under 12 age groups.  Winter season competition games are played according to Football Canterbury Association’s Small Sided Football rules on a non-competitive, home and away basis with games structured to provide a fun and enjoyable experience whilst learning the game of football. AJFC mixed and female only teams are available with pitch size and player numbers increasing as players move through the age groups.

    Junior Football at AJFC

Participation is open to children aged 7 to 12 years with Abbotsford Juniors providing support for teams ranging from groups of friends who want to play football together through to our AJFC Academy program for more skilled footballers who wish to play with like-minded, committed peers. AJFC also offers special free and paid skill development programs for players who wish to further develop their football skills.

AJFC provides Junior footballers with access to Summer season football via the Football Canterbury Association “FC Sixes” Competition. We also support our teams that wish to register in one of the main Summer football competitions available across Sydney’s Inner West.

    Teams and Player Registration

AJFC junior football teams generally train once a week on a team-agreed day and time (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays only) and play games against other Association Clubs on a Saturday or Sunday morning (dependent upon age group). Games are led by a Game Leader who is specially trained to lead games and teach junior players how to play football according to the Football Canterbury Association’s Small Sided Football Rules.

You can find out more about the philosophy of Small Sided Football and Kids football development by accessing and downloading the The CDSFA Supportive Parent information pack from the Football Canterbury Association website.
