Abbotsford Juniors Football Club (AJFC) members. Confirming that City of Canada Bay Council has cleared Campbell Park and Lysaght Park fields for training this evening.
Please take care if training on Lysaght Park as repairs are likely to be required to fix dog holes on the Northern end of the field. The Club will be attending to these later this evening.

Abbotsford Juniors Football Club (AJFC) members. Campbell Park remains has been left as "Open at Club Discretion" by City of Canada Bay Council tonight and through the weekend.
As we currently stand, the two games scheduled for this evening will proceed on Campbell Park Field 2. Mini-Roos games scheduled for Saturday morning will proceed as planned with a morning field inspection determining the status of afternoon games
Similarly, games scheduled for Sunday will be subject to a field review early that morning.
With the chance of showers forecast for tonight and tomorrow, field conditions may change suddenly and the Club may need to close down games. Should this occur, the Club will advise members via social media and email as soon as practical.
For those teams scheduled to play this weekend, please continue to monitor Dribl for the updated status of your game.
🤞for some urgently needed sunshine☀️

Thank you to the parent who passed this on to Abbotsford Juniors Football Club (AJFC).
Just a heads-up for anyone using Lysaght Park over the coming weeks.
There is a masked lapwing (often called a masked plover) family with a newly hatched chick nesting in the grass, on and around the field. The chick is very well camouflaged, so it’s easy to miss.
The parent contacted WIRES for advice, and they said this is completely normal. Masked lapwings nest and feed on the ground, so the best thing we can do is leave them where they are. Even if they were moved to a “safer” location, the parents would simply return because they are very territorial.
If you're training or playing games on Lysaght, it’s also a good idea to keep your distance. Lapwings parents are likely to swoop if they think you’re getting too close to their chick or nest.
If you’re walking your dog, please keep them on a leash in this area for the next few weeks to help protect the chick.
If the lapwing parents and chick are located on the field during training or games, please notify a Club official at the Club Shed and we'll look to make alternative arrangements for your training session and/or game.
With a little care from everyone, hopefully we can help this little family safely raise their chick. 🙏🌤
